Within arcade a ceiling of long slabs, 1st bay from west blocked and with an upright cast iron pump outside (disused). Old arrangement of market booths with a smallish window between doors still largely survives. East end only 2 storeys to octagonal extension; gable end of main part, articulated with a pediment flanked by 2 giant order pilasters and having antefixae. History The building at Alnwick was a 7-12 ft high boundary wall of coursed rubble. It was first Grade II listed on 25 August 1977. During the redevelopment of the former NEEB yard and Militia Barracks LBC (A2000/0009) for the alteration and demolition of the boundary wall was granted in 2000. The listed wall was subsequently almost completely demolished and replaced with modern houses and a small wall section which was rebuilt in 2001.
